Ellie’s 1st haircut. . .

Big day in the Tow household as little Ellie goes in for her first haircut.  Emma pretty much walked into Shaynah’s Scissorhands Salon, hopped up into the chair and was ready for her day o’ beauty. . .and at the age of almost 18 months.  Ellie was doing great until I stuck her in the chair and said, “Look at the mirror Baby, this will be fun.”  Apparently not so much fun in the eyes of an almost 18-month-old.

Dustin took the day off and was my “Daddy-razi” with the 30+ pictures he took.  I told him to just keep taking pictures and we’d delete the bad ones later!  Here are a “few” of Ellie’s before, during and after the haircut.

Little bit of useless knowledge that further proves that I am the offspring of an accountant and a mother who has a lot of time on her hands when she travels with said accountant.  Emma got her first haircut at 504 days old.  And Ellie got her first haircut at 513 days.  Ellie was 9 days shy of getting her haircut at the exact same age to the day as Emma.  And Ellie was supposed to get her haircut the previous week until she got sick.  They would have been 2 days apart.  They were 2 days apart from walking on the exact same day.  Okay, go back to work and realize that I have taken 2 minutes of your life with this information that you will never get back.  Enjoy!

“I have no idea what’s going on!  Scissors will be involved on this outing?  What are scissors???”

Yah, shocker that I would think she needs a haircut???

“Look at the mirror Baby, this will be fun.”

“This is more fun with me sitting on your lap Mama.”

“Okay, I sit here, now what?”

THESE ARE SCISSORS!!  WHERE’S TEDDY???  Teddy is are security blanket/bear head.  Kind of weird when you think about a bear head and only a bear head with no body attached to a small blanket?!?

Silently thinking, “Okay scissors cut off hair. . .I wonder if Emma will ever need a haircut in her sleep. . .before picture day at school???”  Silently Mama thinks, “I need to put up the scissors in a different place. . .Ellie’s making that serious thinking face again.”

Ellie sat really still and was so good for the 4 minutes and 39 seconds it took for her haircut.  Seriously, it took less than five minutes.  In at 1:00:00 p.m. done by 1:04:39.

Emma and her bandaid Uncle Dougly refers to as “The Ladies” aka the Disney Princesses.  She couldn’t quit scratching the mosquito bites on her forehead.

Ellie is reconsidering this whole haircut once Aunt Lynn brought out the “uckers.”  Obviously, I’m telling Ellie, “only one sucker,” right as her hand grabs 12 suckers at once.

Bye bye baby mullet. . .hello beautiful.  Okay, even with the baby mullet, Ellie Bellie was still uber (my favorite and over-used word for really) cute.

No more baby mullet.

“Ellie, look at Mama.  Say cheese!”

“Ellie, quit ignoring Mama.”

“Yes Ellie, I see your ‘ucker.’”
